Bentworth is one of the Parishes in the United Benefice of Bentworth, Lasham, Medstead and Shalden and is located about 3 miles north of Alton off the A339 road between Alton and Basingstoke.
There is evidence to suggest that an Anglo-Saxon church was originally located here. The present church with nave, roof and chancel arch dates from the late 12th century, but the chancel itself, and the lower part of the tower was built in about 1260. There were major restorations of the church during the 19th century when it was re-roofed, the walls were re-faced in flint with stone facings, the tower was rebuilt and the present oak framed shingled spire was added. The tower contains a ring of six bells. The church celebrated the coronation of King George V by adding a clock to the building.
Visitors will be very welcome at any of our services.
